Senkulmen Business Park Phases 1 & 2

Client: Osoyoos Indian Band

Date: February 2014

Value: $14 Million

Senkulmen Business Park is comprised of two (2) phases of commercial and industrial land use designations.

Phase 1 involved the installation of a new highway intersection, two domestic wells, a water control building, reservoir, wastewater treatment plant, solar array to supplement WWTP blowers, two sanitary lift stations, and related pressure and gravity mains including over 4,800m of 350mm dia. watermains.

The Phase 2 portion of the project proceeded once the Osoyoos Indian Band attracted the proposed Okanagan Correctional Centre (OCC) to the business park.

Phase 2 of this business park involved an expansion to the wastewater treatment plant, a complete District geothermal heating system, the relocation of a portion of the existing phase 1 watermain crossing the new OCC site, approximately 900m of sanitary gravity and forcemains, and a new lift station which will service the Constellation Brands Facility and the OCC.

The lift station was constructed to ensure that waste from both the OCC and the Constellation Brands Facility are tested prior to the waste entering the existing Wastewater Treatment Plant. A building was therefore constructed to house sampling equipment and also to provide personnel of Senkulmen Utilities a sheltered area to conduct testing. The building also houses all the electrical components relating to the lift station operation.
