The Forest Grove and Lone Butte Transfer Station Improvements project was the second phase of the Cariboo Regional Districts transition from tipper style waste bins to open top style waste bins.
Both the Forest Grove Transfer Station and Lone Butte Transfer Station Improvements were constructed during the summer and fall of 2013. Their design and functionality were modeled after the Lac La Hache Transfer Station which was phase one of the Cariboo Regional District’s transfer station transition project.
Site works for both sites included removal and disposal of the existing tipper style waste bins and construction of a pre-cast concrete block retaining wall, gravel access road, three cast-in-place concrete waste bin slabs, a security railing and gate system, and site expansion to allow for a recycling bin and share shed area.
