About the Opportunity

TRUE Consulting is currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Kamloops office. This individual will be responsible for guiding skilled teams of technical and engineering staff as the Engineer-of-Record in the delivery of multiple, simultaneous municipal and land development projects. This position will be supported by our current team of experienced project managers and engineering staff through senior/peer review processes and specialist in-house engineering expertise as required.

The Senior Civil Engineer will report directly to TRUE’s Kamloops Branch Manager. This role at TRUE’s head office provides a challenging and rewarding opportunity for personal and professional development.  The successful proponent will fill a specific need at the company and be relied upon for good engineering judgement and the ability to support staff at all levels. While the specific role will depend on the individual’s experience and interests, some responsibilities may include the following:

  • Managing and working collaboratively with project teams of Engineers, EITs, technologists, and other professionals to deliver municipal and land development projects of varying complexity
  • Act as the Engineer-of-Record for projects that fit within the proponent’s professional expertise and areas of interest
  • Liaise and support relationships with clients, approving agencies, and other consulting professionals
  • Supporting project teams on many aspects of the design, field inspections, and contract administration
  • Travel to project sites within British Columbia.

Kamloops is a vibrant and growing city in the heart of the BC Southern Interior. Our team in Kamloops currently includes fifteen Professional Engineers, seven EITs, one Professional Planner, three BC Land Surveyors, over fifteen technologists, and other technical and administrative staff.

About You

Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, strengths, and interests:

  • Experience :10+ years of experience in land development or municipal engineering in a consulting or municipal environment
  • Professional Qualifications: Registered or immediately eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with EGBC
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience as a technical design engineer and project manager on municipal infrastructure or land development projects, liaising with clients and other professionals, and MMCD contract administration
  • Municipal Modeling Proficiency: Experience in WaterCAD, PCSWMM, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and ESRI
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrated report writing skills, and proficient written and verbal English communication skills
  • Leadership: Passion for leading, managing, and motivating project teams
  • Problem Solving: Ability to define problems, prioritize tasks, and maintain a community-driven perspective.
  • Innovative Spirit: Genuine curiosity, a desire to innovate, and expand personal and company knowledge.

Salary

The annual salary range for this position is $120,000 – $150,000, depending on experience.
