About the Opportunity

TRUE Consulting is currently seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer to join our Kamloops North Branch. This individual will be a Professional Engineer with strong design skills in municipal infrastructure and/or land development, who is passionate about team-based project delivery and wants to live and work in the beautiful city of Kamloops, BC!

Our Kamloops North Branch delivers a wide range of municipal and land development projects in the Kamloops area. Our clients include municipalities, First Nations, and private developers including residential, commercial, and industrial subdivision and infill developments. While this position will largely support our land development projects, this opportunity will be catered to the needs and interests of our best candidate. Some key responsibilities may include the following:

  • Detailed design of municipal and land development projects in the Kamloops area.
  • Prepare or coordinate the preparation of technical documents such as calculations, memorandums, cost estimates, tender documents, reports, and regulatory approvals.
  • Support Project Managers in the delivery of all aspects of municipal and land developments projects, including design, project management, construction management, field inspections, contract administration, client communications, municipal permitting, and more.
  • Working collaboratively with project teams of other experienced Engineers, EITs, technologists, and other professionals.

Kamloops is a vibrant and growing city in the heart of the BC Southern Interior. Our team in Kamloops currently includes fifteen Professional Engineers, seven EITs, one Professional Planner, three BC Land Surveyors, over fifteen technologists, and other technical and administrative staff.

About You

Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, strengths, and interests:

  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive design experience in land development and/or civil engineering in a consulting or municipal environment. Relevant experience acting as Engineer of Record is considered an asset.
  • Professional Qualifications: Registered or immediately eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with EGBC
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience as a technical design engineer on municipal infrastructure or land development projects. Experience in project management or MMCD contract administration is considered an asset.
  • Municipal Modeling Proficiency: Experience in WaterCAD, PCSWMM, AutoCAD Civil 3D, utilities sizing and network analysis, and/or ESRI would be considered an asset.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrated report writing skills, and proficient written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to define problems, prioritize tasks, and maintain a community-driven perspective.
  • Innovative Spirit: Genuine curiosity, a desire to innovate, and expand personal and company knowledge.

Salary

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000 – $120,000, depending on experience.
