About the Opportunity
TRUE has been the first call from our clients during emergency flood response in recent years in the BC interior. Many of our clients have been impacted by flooding and have continuing needs to mitigate flood risks. This has resulted in a growing list of diverse hydro-technical projects including policy development, modelling, design/construction, and operation of works in both the riverine and urban environments. Simply, our clients have complex issues, and we need your water expertise to help solve them!
While the specific role will depend on your experience and interests, some responsibilities may include the following:
- Prepare and/or develop deliverables such as technical memorandums, hydraulic assessments, field reviews, flood modelling and mapping, flood risk assessments, flood mitigation planning and stormwater management planning
- Provide design (conceptual to detailed), cost estimating and delivery of public and private infrastructure projects including dikes, hydraulic structures, erosion protection, river training, shoreline restoration, and stormwater management
- Work closely with other hydrotechnical engineers while helping to mentor junior staff
- Collaborate and manage subconsultants to effectively deliver a project (e.g. geotechnical, geomorphology, environmental, archaeological)
- Assist in providing technical leadership, developing client relationships, and quality management
- Limited travel to project sites within beautiful British Columbia

About You
Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, strengths, and interests:
- 5-15 years of relevant professional experience
- Professional Engineer with EGBC (or eligible) – EIT designation to be considered
- A fundamental understanding of hydraulics, hydrology, hydrotechnical design
- Experience in either the riverine environment or urban drainage (or both!)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to define problems, prioritize tasks, and have a client-driven perspective
- A genuine curiosity, wanting to innovate and expand both personal and company knowledge
- Have a valid driver’s license
