Governor's Landing Shopping Centre

Located on Westbank First Nation lands, the Governor's Landing shopping centre was developed on 8.5 ha (21 acres) of 'brownfield' / redevelopment land. Progressive storm water management features were incorporated in the site designs, including oil / grit separator units and three separate biofiltration ponds reflecting the presence of the Smith, Tomat and Westbank Creeks on site.

The Louie Drive designs included a unique 'hybrid' road section, with one half urbanized, and one half accommodating Tomat Creek. Department of Fisheries and Oceans and Ministry of Environmental approvals were obtained for these works. In addition, the project involved the successful design and construction of the first privately funded roundabout within a Ministry of Transportation road right of way in the province.
